How To Put Yourself First

In the age of the selfie, self-appreciation should be an easily accepted practice. So why is it still seen as vanity when you pout your lips and snap a photo on a day that you’re feeling particularly fresh? The same can be said for taking pride in your appearance, many believe that there are better uses for money than getting a spray tan or getting your nails done, but we believe that your body deserves your care. Repeat after us: I’m worth it!

We think it’s time you put yourself first. Spend some time on your appearance and you’ll be surprised at how good you feel. The point of this isn’t to look good for someone, it’s to look and feel good for you. Not sure where to start? Don’t worry, that’s what we’re here for.

  1. Get enough sleep

By not getting enough sleep you’re negatively affecting not only your skin’s moisture but also its pH levels. Your skin will be drier, possibly blotchy and prone to breakouts without a good night’s sleep. If you find your skin has lost its glow we offer a range of Optiphi Rejuvenating Peels (75-90 min) that will rejuvenate your skin with little to no downtime. Choose from an advanced peel (R640 – R690) that includes a revitalising and detoxifying facial massage or an express peel (R465 – R495) that is a quick fix for skin rejuvenation.

  1. De-stress yourself

You’ve got to learn to let go of things you can’t control and find a way to work through your stress and anxiety. You could try yoga or even book yourself in for one of our Pure Massages, the style of massage doesn’t change the price it is only the duration that does (30, 45, 60, 75 or 90 min). Massages have been proven to relieve anxiety, digestive disorders, headaches and even stress-related insomnia. We recommend the classic Swedish massage (R230 – R550) for full body relaxation.

  1. Eat right

Ever heard of the saying ‘you are what you eat’? Well, if you eat junk, you’re going to feel like it. Make sure that you’re getting your 5-9 servings of fruit and veggies everyday and drinking 8 glasses of water. If you find this step to be difficult, why not ask your colleagues to join you for this healthy eating change? Encouraging and keeping each other accountable will make things much easier.

  1. Treat yourself

Get a manicure, pedicure, get eyelash extensions or whatever else you’ve always wanted to do and make it a regular thing. You need to make sure that you’ve scheduled in some time for yourself each month.
