Festive and Fabulous!

A time to reconnect with family and friends, what’s not to love about the Christmas?

Well, while you might love the Festive Season, your skin wont thank you when it’s time to return to reality in the New Year. The combination of “good food” and “good times” can really take its toll on your liver, and in turn, your complexion. So what can you do to make sure you always look your best these holidays?

At a very basic level, we all understand that the liver functions as a “filter” for the body, processing impurities and filtering toxins. The skin, on the other hand, is the largest organ in the body and is often the first place that any internal “imbalances” start to show up. So when we place our livers under undue stress by consuming too much alcohol, our skin won’t be as radiant as it could be.

Start taking a liver cleansing supplement, such as AdvaClear by Metagenics (R510), and continue with it throughout the festive period. It’s full of all the vitamins and minerals your skin needs to support healthy detoxification.

The dehydration caused by alcohol is also bad for the skin, causing it to look dull and lifeless much more quickly than normal. To prevent the skin dehydrating, be sure to balance your alcohol intake with plenty of water. Cranberry juice is a great liver cleanser too, so make sure you’ve got some in the fridge throughout the holiday season. Green tea is also packed with antioxidants, which will does wonders for your skin.

Speaking of dehydration, give your skin a much-needed boost with the Hydra-Derm HA Masque from Optiphi (R615). This masque will actively promote skin plumping and conquer signs of fatigue. Hyaluronic Acid penetrates deep into the skin to replenish lost moisture and improve the appearance of the skin.

Our Bio-Medical Exfoliating Home Peel Sets (R680) also work wonders to get your skin back in peak condition when you’re on the go and don’t have time to pop in for a treatment. Use the night before and the morning of a special event for a radiant, even finish.

And finally, have a cup of hot water with a slice of lemon and ginger when you wake up every morning. The ginger reduces inflammation, while the lemon is rich in vitamin C, which is excellent for your skin. Together, this combination will help your kidneys eradicate toxins and rehydrate your body and skin, leaving you feeling ready for anything.

Don’t forget that we’re always here to help you look your best, so make sure to book your consultation as soon as possible to avoid disappointment!<o :p></o>
